about

Birckhead's identity finds its place in 'Skyline,' a homage to his former home of New York City. Featuring Christie Dashiell, Mic Renaissance, and his wife, Christian, the song encapsulates the iconic view of the city's skyline that Birckhead left behind upon departing from his East Harlem residence with panoramic views of the Bronx. The sticky melody, inspired by the birthplace of hip-hop, is counterbalanced by razor-sharp bars, emphasizing the art form's chameleonic ability to adapt to any arrangement—a trait mirrored by Birckhead himself.

lyrics

Never lost but we're just finding our place
Just Know you where you need to be and go and carve out your space
We all walking on different paths
So please just move at your pace
Gotta let it go and breathe
We ain't here running a race
Yeah The shit we be needing sitting right in our face
We be riding right past
Fast Out here moving with haste
So misplaced is the mental state
Alas the masses is fake
And them takes just don't be for certain
So I know you'll be straight I'm not exempt
So I'm here just speaking my mind
Need a sign to go sign a line
And I feel the limits the sky
I been feeling like time is slipping
And life is passing me by
Still comparing myself to others
And praying for times I shine
We all just human
So just know we ain't perfect Aye yo
Of course we finna fall
When on the search for our purpose
Feel like we caught up in a loop
And on the days that you hurtin
You gotta You gotta

No time like the now before the white pine
Lighter fluid flow so I spit shine
A sinister saint call me Christian
Birckhead call me bae but ima secure a byline
And toast from rags to riches up against the city skyline
Pay no mind
I'm just manifesting so our prayers align
Acid in his dms I see 'em, but I'm the alkaline
No cap the pack more elements than gold mines when our powers combine
I'm just chip'n church higher than a steeple
Why the fuck are they still killing all our people
Yeah I'm top-notch like baby hair and dookie braids and top knots
And opal grills with gold fangs
On chocolate girls with stretch marks
Won't sign away my soul
I protect our autographic
While you talkin all that jazz
We talkin American classical
This ain't practical
This borderline radial
Fanciful
This that shit
This giving black magical
I had to go
Manhandle yo melodic instrumental
Play this back if you are kind of blue or sentimental
